This post was about potting training last winter. We made a Training Chart, where every two hours, if his pants were dry, he got a train sticker for his chart. He also got a Starburst whenever he’d use the toilet. The train sticker chart motivated him for about two days.
What ultimately worked was flipping through trains on Amazon in bed before naptime. Isaac would admire and covet the trains, and we’d talk about how he could earn them by using the toilet.
Even now, if he wants something, he says, “MOM! I pee and I poop in the toilet a lot! I have some more trains?”
The extra tracks we got Isaac for Christmas and for potty TRAINing really make his tracks a lot more fun. Isaac is such a little civil engineer, and very particular:
“No dad! It doesn’t work well!”
“Isaac; it’s working good.”
“No dad! It’s not working well!!!”
“Isaac, it’s fine.”
Isaac demonstrated how the uneven track bumped the cars off the tracks. Oh.
