We have been so very sick. I spent Valentine’s Day living out one of my deployment fears: barfing and shivering, with a barfing and shivering kid, with another kid who can’t do anything for herself and was upset and confused by the general misery. Changing a poopy diaper while unable to stand upright? That’s not right. We watched the Lion King about 10,000 times (minus all scary parts). Well, we survived…check that fear off my list, I guess.
Anyway, it’s been a week and a day since our two weeks of barf and six weeks of barf/pink eye/ear infections! We feel reborn!
Eloise WALKS. All over. Finally. She also says things like, “Yeah, elevator,” and “Isaac!” and shakes and nods her head. She likes putting diapers on her head like Pa showed her. She loves jewelry and bows.
It’s been a weird few weeks. It snowed. I saw a waterspout over the Hague from the front entrance of the Chrysler. We got offered crappy, pointless orders (and said NO). The neighbors threw a baby shower. I battled the laundry/dishes/chaos back into order after it raged out of control during the barfing. We settled with our insurance company for the flooded basement debacle. We had Mardi Gras and Chinese New Year tea. We spent this evening down in the basement while tornado sirens whined.
I admit, at the lowest low of sick cleanup, I felt like it was impossible to have a good attitude anymore. I prayed for encouragement. Would my prayer be answered…?
