Kawai Nui Marsh Trail

The Kawai Nui Canal runs along two sides of Coconut Grove and drains the largest wetlands in Oahu. And the entrance to the walking trail through the marsh is just a half mile from Coconut Cottage. The trail ends on the Pali Highway or whatever road it turns into as it enters Kailua, and you can loop around Kimo’s Surf Hut and back to our house from there. It’s a couple of miles or so, stroller-friendly, with plenty of room to breathe and run free. The kids recommend it. Everyone is (finally…temporarily…?) calm and happy. Because at the end of the day, the trail at last leads home.
