Chris received the NATO Meritorious Service Medal a few weeks ago! The chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer of the Royal Netherlands Navy, previously Chief of Defense for the Netherlands, presented the award.
“This is to certify that Commander Christopher Krueger has been awarded the NATO Meritorious Service Medal for distinguished service while assigned on NATO duties. Christopher Krueger has upheld the finest traditions of the Alliance through an exceptional all-round contribution which has brought great credit on himself and earned the respect and gratitude of everyone represented by the Alliance,” the award reads.
Chris has been acting head of watch during COVID, the withdrawal in Afghanistan, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“It wasn’t just for me; it was for all of SITCEN,” Chris said.
“Commander Krueger’s leadership, dedication and professionalism have been exemplary and played a direct and significant role upon the ability of SITCEN to successfully fulfil its mandates. He is a credit to his country, the International Military Staff, and to the Alliance,” the award says.
