Sasebo Morning Market

A small old lady chattered to me in Japanese, promoting the freshness of the fat squid in a neat grid on her tray. She proved the truth of her words by poking each one, sending them all a-squiggle. I smiled back a little horrified while their squirming tentacles eased over the edge of the tray.
