We could see Neuschwanstein Castle from our hotel parking lot. When we pulled in at dark o’clock it was all lit up so it looked like it was floating even though it’s tucked into this very nice mountain.
This video is the view from our hotel window. We found the Alpenmeier Hotel (miraculously) in the dark, and I thought I heard wind chimes from the parking lot. “Are those wind chimes or cow bells?” I asked Chris, who laughed. A rather large bovine was investigating our car. We decided the sound of cow bells is about the most relaxing thing to fall asleep to.
